WHAT ARE VENEERS?

Dental veneers are thin shells of lustrous porcelain bonded to the front of teeth. They are stain-resistant, durable, and custom-made to look realistic and natural. Veneers can correct a variety of imperfections, such as:

  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Gaps
  • Uneven & Irregularly Shaped Teeth
  • Discoloration
  • Small Gaps

HOW TO GET VENEERS

To determine if veneers are right for you, please schedule a cosmetic consultation at Sabrina E. Mickel DDS & Associates. We’ll discuss your budget, specific smile goals, and unique needs. Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll take impressions of your teeth so we can design veneers that are perfect for your smile.

Before your veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth, we will need to shave down the enamel of your existing teeth to ensure a good fit. The procedure is considered permanent since your natural tooth is altered. Although having thinner enamel would typically cause sensitive teeth, your veneers will act as a strong outer protective layer to protect you from sensitivity.

VENEERS MAINTENANCE

The care for your veneers is the same as for your natural teeth. Brush and floss every day; visit Sabrina E. Mickel DDS & Associates every six months for cleanings and checkups; avoid tobacco products; and don’t bite down on hard objects, such as ice and hard candy; and don’t open packaging with your teeth.
